Chocolate Cherry Tartlets
And a 'Cherry Pony' gin cocktail
Hello and welcome back to Bake Experiments. Thank you SO much for being here. It means the world.

Today is my husband's birthday. It's a big birthday too. The big 4-0.
I rarely make my husband a birthday cake. I tend to make him a pie or tart - and often, it's a cherry pie. His favourite.
To celebrate, this week's recipe is a new and improved cherry twist on my chocolate & blackcurrant tartlets, which I shared earlier in the year.
In further celebration, and as it is nearly Christmas, I have shared a bonus cocktail recipe. My husband and I created the ‘Cherry Pony’ in our hedonistic, spontaneous, child-free days. When trips to glamorous cocktail bars were a weekly, rather than yearly, occurrence.
It is our version of a ‘Horse’s Neck’, which is a long gin and ginger drink. But we have made it short, with added cherry joy.
Stories of cherries and folklore…
This may be surprising - but…
